Player with a great touch on the ball who has experience of playing in the top flight with Granada

Martin Hongla, born on 16 March 1998 in Yaoundé, Cameroon, is a player who came through the Nkufo Academy in Cameroon before joining Spanish club Granada CF. The 2016/17 season saw him make 23 appearances for the Andalusian team’s B squad in the Second Division B. However, Hongla did also make 10 appearances for the Granada first team in the campaign that saw them relegated from the Spanish top flight to the Second Division A. The Cameroonian can play at centre back or in central midfield.

FC Barcelona and Granada CF announced on the 16 January 2018 an agreement for the loan of the player to Barça B until the end of the season. There is also an option to buy the player at the end of his loan period. 

Technical profile

He is a right footed player who can operate in midfield or in defence as he has shown with Granada. Aside from his versatility, he also possesses an excellent touch on the ball.
