A tall, athletic defender, a left sided centre back with pace, great anticipation and excellent skills on the ball

Born on 7 October 2007 in Arnhem in the Netherlands, Onstein began his career with his home town club of Vitesse. Later, the defender moved on to the youth system at Ajax Amsterdam, further developing his skills. 

After leaving Ajax, Onstein moved to neighbouring Belgium and KRC Genk, making his professional debut for the B team in the Second Division. Following 20 appearances for the Genk B team, in January 2026 he arrived at FC Barcelona.
