Born in Zadar, Croatia, on 9 January 1995, Dominik Livaković began playing in the youth ranks at NK Zadar and NK Zagreb. He made his first-team debut for the latter in the 2012/13 season in the Croatian top flight, before signing for Dinamo Zagreb in 2016/17.

He spent a total of seven seasons there, making 295 appearances, conceding 249 goals and keeping 137 clean sheets, while winning seven league titles. His impressive performances earned him a move to Turkish side Fenerbahçe in the summer of 2023.

During his two seasons with the Istanbul club, he made 74 appearances and kept 24 clean sheets. In the summer of 2025, he joined Girona on loan, although he did not make a single appearance. In the winter transfer window, he returned to Dinamo Zagreb, also on loan, and played 15 games, conceding just 10 goals and keeping eight clean sheets. He helped the Zagreb side claim another league title.

In the summer of 2026, he signed for FC Barcelona to become the club's newest goalkeeper.

At international level, Livaković has been a regular for Croatia since 2017. He has been part of the squad at the last three World Cups (2018, 2022 and 2026) and the last two European Championships (2021 and 2024). His honours include silver and bronze medals from the 2018 and 2022 World Cups respectively.
