Barça Atlètic have started the season in style. Juliano Belletti's side thrashed CD Náxara 5-0 at the Estadi Johan Cruyff, matching the first team's 5-0 win at Valencia earlier in the day. Ignasi Quer was the star of the show with four goals, while Álex González also got on the scoresheet.
Dream start
It took Barça Atlètic just one minute to open the scoring. Aziz slipped the ball through to Quer, who marked his first appearance of the league campaign with a clinical finish into the far corner (1-0, min 1).
The home side dominated possession and gave Náxara little opportunity to threaten. Ten minutes before the break, the same combination produced the second, Aziz crossing from the byline for Quer to make it 2-0 (min 36).
Quer runs riot
The pattern continued after the break, with Barça Atlètic controlling proceedings and pushing for more. Quer completed his hat-trick after Orian Goren flicked the ball into his path, calmly controlling and finishing for 3-0 (min 76).
González added a spectacular fourth late on, firing in off the crossbar from a tight angle (min 86), before Quer had the final word. The striker pounced on a loose ball in the area in stoppage time to complete an extraordinary four-goal haul (5-0, min 95).
A perfect start for Belletti's side in front of almost 1,000 fans at the Estadi Johan Cruyff, and, remarkably, the exact same 5-0 scoreline as the first team at Mestalla.
Next up is a trip to UD Logroñés Promesas on Sunday at 12 noon.
