Marlon became part of the first team for the 2017/18 season and stands out for his ability to bring the ball out from the back

Marlon Santos learnt his trade at Brazilian club Fluminense where he eventually made his first team debut. He arrived at Barça B on loan for the 2016/17 season with an option of a permanent transfer at the end of the campaign. 

On 23 November 2016 he made his debut for Luis Enrique's first team. He did so in the Champions League against Cetic in the 2-0 win in Glasgow in the penultimate game of the Champions League group stage. 

The Brazilian defender made his league debut for the first team in the penultmate round of fixtures in 2016/17 in the victory against Las Palmas. Marlon played the whole 90 minutes in that game and did so again in the final game of the league season at Camp Nou against Eibar. 

After making his debut in the First Division, Marlon returned to the B squad to feature in the final four league games of the campaign and the play offs in which Gerard López's team secured a place in the Second Division A for the following season. FC Barcelona decided to exercise their right to buy the player and Marlon joined the first team squad for the 2017/18 season. Shortly thereafter, Marlon was sent on loan to Nice for the 2017/18 season.

Technical profile

Marlon is a powerful defender who is strong in the air. He is a player with plenty of character out on the field and is also comfortable bringing the ball out from the back.
