Adama Traoré returned to FC Barcelona from Wolverhampton Wanderers. Of Malian descent but born in Hospitalet de Llobregat on 25 January 1996, Adama joined the Barça youth system when he was eight and was always considered to have a bright future.
Quick and powerful, he was 17 years old when, in the 2013/14 season, he made his Barça B debut in the second division, although he spent most of the year in the UEFA Youth League winning U19 squad.
Adama made his senior debut on 23 November 2013 in a 4-0 win over Granada, and three days later featured in the Champions in a 2-1 loss away to Ajax. His only goal for Barça was scored in the 8-1 win in the Copa del Rey against Huesca.
After spending his whole life in blaugrana, in 2015 he left for England, where he has played for Aston Villa (2015/16), Middlesbrough (2016/18) and Wolverhampton Wanderers (2018 to January 2022).
He earned his first ever international cap for Spain when Luis Enrique used him on 7 October 2020 in a friendly against Portugal.
