FC Barcelona now has a new number 11. Adama Traoré, signed on loan from Wolverhampton Wanderers with an option in the summer to make the move permanent, will be the name to wear the eleven shirt.
With Yusuf Demir having returned to Rapid Vienna, the number 11 shirt was vacant and now Adama will join the long list of Barça players who have worn the number.
In his first spell at FC Barcelona Adama wore the number seven shirt for Barça B and the number 27 in his appearances for the first team.
Rivaldo and Neymar amongst former number elevens
The shirt number is usually associated with exciting dribblers like Adama Traoré. It comes as no surprise then to see the names of Gheorghe Hagi (1995/96), Rivaldo (1997/2000), Neymar (2013/2017) and Ousmane Dembélé (2017/2021) amongst those who have worn the number 11 jersey.
Other notable players to have been the Barça number 11 include Cuéllar, Overmars, Maxi López, Zambrotta, Bojan, Jeffren and Thiago Alcántara.
