Adama Traoré ready to work to make culers 'happy'

The new Barça winger speaks at his official presentation about his return to the blaugranes

The return of Adama Traoré to Barça is now complete. The winger who came up through the youth teams at FC Barcelona was officially presented on Wednesday at Camp Nou, accompanied by president Joan Laporta and the International Director of Football, Jordi Cruyff.

Adama, who made his debut for the first team debut back in 2013, has returned to Barça on loan from Wolverhampton Wanderers and he is already training with the rest of his team mates.

President Joan Laporta was the first to welcome him back at the press conference during his presentation: "Today is a very special day. You were born and learnt a lot here and you have continued your professional career elsewhere but now you are back at Barça so we can enjoy your talent. We are grateful for the effort you have made to come here and we are looking forward to you making your first appearance with the number 11. Today a nice story continues: Adama and FC Barcelona."

On his return to home, Adama also wanted to thanks all those who had made it possible and referred to a possible debut against Atlético Madrid at the weekend: "I have been away for seven years, I will do all I can to make the Barça fans happy with me. I am happy to be back home and I hope to demonstrate my talents on Sunday."

The winger confirmed that he has followed Barça closely since leaving for the Premier League and also the changes that have come about in the last six years: "I have changed physically, I have gained experience but I have never lost that Barça essence. If the Adama today is the same as yesterday, that is a lost day. Getting better every day is really important to me."

Asked about Xavi Hernández,  the La Masia product looked back at advice he had been given over the years by the current coach and what the boss expects of him now: "He has asked me to take players on and score goals, like the other wingers. I have played on both wings, as a striker and as a wing back. I can play in various positions but the coach has said to me he wants me as a winger."

Finally, the new signing explained "sometimes you have to take a different path to reach the first team" and now he is prepared to make that step: "I am really happy, excited and ready to help the in every way. Going back to Camp Nou will be very special; I am coming back home."
