Hiroki Abe was born on 28 January 1999 in Tokyo, Japan. The forward came to Barça in the summer of 2019 from Kashima Antlers where he made 79 appearances in two and a half seasons. Despite being a winger he scored 10 goals and provided seven assists. FC Barcelona paid the Japanese club 1.1 million euros for his services and he has a buy out clause set at 40 million as Barça B player and which will rise to 100 million if he makes the jump to the first team .
The young Japanese player was chosen as the best young player in the J-League in 2018. Furthermore, he was Super Cup champion and an Asian Champions League winner with Kashima Antlers. An international at U19 and U20 level, he made his debut for the full national team in the 2019 Copa América against Chile. A pure winger, he can play on either flank and also in midfield. Abe is right footed and loves to cut in from wide on the left.
