FC Barcelona Lassa v Dynamo Moscow: Another big step (3-2)

Three top strikes from Lozano, Dyego and Saad give the Catalans their second win in the Futsal Intercontinental Cup

FC Barcelona Lassa earned their second victory of the Futsal Intercontinental Cup on Saturday evening after a 3-2 win over Dynamo Moscow.

After the opening day win over Tasisat Daryaei (4-2), the Catalans had less than 24 hours to rest ahead of the big match against the Russian giants.

The game started at a frantic pace, with the ball constantly changing hands, yet there were no clear chances early on. Dynamo keeper Poddubny was the star in the first 20 minutes, denying Barça on six occasions to keep the score goalless.

What Barça were unable to do in the first 20 minutes, they achieved in the opening minute of the second half, as Sergio Lozano broke the deadlock with a well-worked set play. Via the same method, Barça would double their lead just a few minutes later, this Dyego scoring with a fine strike, demonstrating his superb individual quality.

Soon after, it was Saad who would give the Catalans a 3-0 lead, and it looked as they though the game was well out of sight. Dynamo, however, had other ideas.

Pula pulled one back, before Nando narrowed the deficit to just one goal with three minutes remaining as the Russian champions through everything forward.

Yet it would prove too little too late as Carmona’s men held firm for a vital win. The next game comes on Sunday as the group stage comes to a close and the pursuit of the semi-finals resumes.
