FC Barcelona have agreed to sign Bostjan Nachbar. Once the Nachbar passes his medical, he will sign a contract which will see him don the Blaugrana strip this season with the option to extend his contract an additional year.

The 33-year-old Slovenian arrives to FC Barcelona from Brose Baskets, where he won the German League last season. Nachbar also has Euroleague experience. Last year he averaged 16.1 points and 26 minutes per match in the European competition. In fact, he faced Barça on two occasions last year; he scored 20 points against the Blaugrana at the Palau and 18 in the match played in Germany.

More resources in Barça’s interior play

After picking up Joey Dorsey and Kostas Papanikolau, Nachbar, who will play in CJ Wallace’s place, becomes Xavi Pascual’s third signing of the year. The veteran player will share a position with Erazem Lorbek.

Boki Nachbar started his professional career in 1997 with KK Union Olimpija, where he won the league and the Slovanian Cup. In the year 2000 he signed with Benetton Treviso (Italy), where he played two seasons. In his second season with the Italian team he won the league and the Italian Super Cup and he made it to the Final Four of the Euroleague.

Nachbar's NBA past

After his time in Italy, Nachbar made the leap to the NBA. He featured for the Houston Rockets, the New Orleans Hornets and the New Jersey Nets. With six years of NBA experience under his belt, Nachbar returned to Europe, where he signed for Dinamo Moscow, in the 2008/09 season. A year later he signed for Efes Pilsen and then with Unics Kazan (2011/12), he finished out last year with Brose Baskets.
