FC Barcelona and Hamburg SV have reached an agreement for the transfer of Alen Halilovic for five million euros.

The Catalan club reserves the right to repurchase the Croatian midfielder within the first two seasons he is at the German side for 10 million euros and a right of first refusal before a possible future transfer while the player is still at Hamburg.

Barça B and Sporting de Gijón

Halilovic signed for Barça on 26 May 2014 for five seasons, joining from Dinamo Zagreb. Playing for Barça B, the Croat played the 2014/15 in the second division, playing 29 matches and scoring four goals.

He made his debut with the first team in the Copa del Rey, featuring for 31 minutes against Elche in the last 16.

After going on the first team’s American tour in 2015, he was then loaned to fellow La Liga club Sporting Gijon. Under the orders of former Barça defender Abelardo, Halilovic played 36 matches in the league, 24 as a starter.
