Anthony Gordon makes FC Barcelona debut
Basel will always be a special place for Anthony Gordon as will the date 16 August 2026. The English winger made his debut for FC Barcelona in Switzerland on Sunday in the 5-2 friendly win against FC Basel.
Despite only recently returning to training after his participation in the 2026 World Cup, Gordon was included in the starting XI for the preseason game by coach Hansi Flick. The England international showed glimpses of his undoubted talents in Sankt Jakob Park, in particular his strength on the ball and his pace.
Anthony Gordon reported back to training for the blaugranes just a week ago with Eric Garcia and his first seven days have been rounded off with a notable debut as all bodes well for Hansi Flick's attacking options in 2026/27.
