More preseason work and minutes under the belt for Barça Atlètic. This fourth friendly saw the development side play CF Vilanova with the Ciutat de Vilanova Trophy the prize for the winners. Despite dominating from start to finish, the final score was 0-0 and the home side ended up winning the penalty shoot 3-0 to claim the trophy.

Control but no goal

The blaugrana development side took control of the game from the off, dominating possession, and looking dangerous every time they attacked the home side's goal, Nil Vicens in particular.

The Catalan had the first two chances, both of which were very similar, firing in two shots from the edge of the area that went over the bar. Barça Atlètic continued to dominate the game, and only Zourdine Thior was posing a real threat from Vilanova, first from a header that went wide, before a powerful shot brushed the bar.

Penalty shootout loss

Belletti's side ended the first half with a shot across goal by Ignasi Quer that almost broke the deadlock. After three changes at the break, Barça Atlètic continued pushing and controlling the match, leading to two almost consecutive efforts by Villar and Teixi, followed by another by Gistau not long after. All 10 outfield players ended up being substituted, but to no avail when it came to the scoreline.

They constantly looked for the breakthrough, with Ebrima Tunkara, Orian Goren and Caicedo showing well. With the match winding down, the home side's keeper saved from free kicks by Gistau and Tunkara, and the Ciutat de Vilanova Trophy went to penalties, where Vilanova proved most decisive.
