The curtain came down on a hectic January with the LaLiga match against Elche, but the games keep coming thick and fast for FC Barcelona. Finishing in the UCL League Phase top eight means a pause in the European competition for the Club, but LaLiga and Copa del Rey continue towards their respective conclusions with matches in both tournaments this month.
Copa del Rey first
The first match this month is in the knockout competition and could prove a tougher test than it seems on paper, as Barça travel to play Albacete at 9.00pm CET on 3 February at the Carlos Belmonte stadium for a Copa del Rey clash. Despite being in the second division, the side from Castilla-La Mancha have already shown their potential by eliminating Real Madrid from the competition, a clear warning to the blaugranes they will have to compete well during this single leg knockout tie.
Should they go through, Hansa Flick's side will have another Copa del Rey match in February, with the first leg of the semi-final set to be played on 10/11/12 February. The second leg would then be in the first week of March.
No let up in LaLiga
LaLiga continues to roll on. First up this month is a game at the Spotify Camp Nou against Mallorca at 4.15pm CET on 7 February, a match to keep up the consistency in the league during a key period. Barça will then travel to the Montilivi stadium to play Girona at 9.00pm CET on 16 February, on a Monday rather than during the weekend as usual.
The following match will be on 21/22 February as Levante are the visitors to the Spotify Camp Nou, with the kick-off time yet to be confirmed. What's more, there might even be another LaLiga match during February, as the home match against Villarreal could potentially be played on Saturday 28 February. The date is still to be confirmed and a match on Sunday would see it played in March.
The Champions League may be taking a short break, but the LaLiga and Copa del Rey commitments mean Barça face a demanding schedule in the shortest month of the year, with each game decisive regarding the targets for this season.
