First game of 2026 for Barça Women and Pere Romeu's team overwhelmed Madrid CFF 12-1 in the Estadi Johan Cruyff in the league. The blaugranes scored seven in the first half and five in the second to record a resounding win to kick off the year.

Great start

Players missing meant a start for Gemma Font in goal and reshuffles with Torrejón playing at the back and Carla Julià at right back. Nevertheless, Barça Women got off to the best possible start when striker Pajor made it 1-0 on just 9 minutes. The Polish international, like any great striker, was then in the right place at the right time to make it 2-0, turning in a rebound after a cross from the wing.

Carla Julià scored a brilliant goal to make it 3-0, beating defender Monica and then firing home on 26 minutes. More goals were to come before the break as Barça dominated completely. Sydney scored another special effort on 29 minutes and Pajor completed her hat-trick with a header on 38. Two minutes before the break and Esmee Brugts's cross evaded everybody to nestle into the back of the net for the sixth.

An own goal from Mendoza rounded off the scoring in the first half with Barça Women taking a 7-0 lead into the break.

Goals keep coming

Ona Battle and María León came on in the second half but it was Madrid CFF who scored first, Nautnes making it 7-1 on 49 minutes. Normal service was resumed when Alexia slotted home a penalty after a foul on the impressive Carla Julià. Alexia was involved again when Pajor scored her fourth and Barça's ninth with another header.

More changes saw a debut in the league for Laia Martret. Substitute Ainoa made an immediate impact scoring a 10th on 68 minutes. Martret then celebrated her first appearance in the competition by setting up Sydney to make it 11-1. The final strike of the day came with 10 minutes to go, Pina scoring unmarked in the box to round off a great start to 2026 for Barça Women.
