Goalkeeper Cata Coll and FC Barcelona will continue their journey together. The Barça goalkeeper, who has won every possible title with the team, has signed a new contract that ties her to the club until 2029. The signing ceremony was attended by president Joan Laporta, the board member responsible for the women’s team, Xavier Puig, and the women’s sporting director, Marc Vivés.

With the Balearic islander’s contract extension, Barça ensures a top-class presence in goal for three more seasons (her previous deal ran until 2026). At 24, Coll is much more than a promising talent. A champion of everything with Barça and of nearly everything with the Spanish national team, she is one of the best in the world in her position and perfectly embodies the Barça style of play.
Brave with her feet, decisive with her hands
Fearless with the ball at her feet, she is the first attacker in Pere Romeu’s system, and when called upon, she delivers match-winning saves at crucial moments that bring both trophies and points. After alternating matches with Sandra Paños during the 2023/24 season, the departure of her fellow stopper in the summer of 2024 made Coll an undisputed starter.
Last season she played 40 matches across all competitions. So far this season, she has appeared in five.
95 matches, 61 clean sheets
Since joining Barça in 2019, she has made 95 appearances, keeping clean sheets in well over half (61) while conceding only 39 goals. The numbers are spectacular, but the sense that Cata Coll continues to grow and mature at a remarkable pace is even stronger.
It was therefore beyond doubt that she should remain the guardian of Barça’s goal. And she will do so until 2029. Over the next three seasons, she will aim to add to her already impressive haul of 17 trophies as a Barça player: three Champions Leagues, five Liga titles, four Copas de la Reina and five Spanish Super Cups.
