The visit of Champions League holders Paris Saint-Germain to the Estadi Olímpic brought with it the first defeat of the season for Hansi Flick's Barça team. The German coach made no excuses and after the game he admitted that the French side had been the better team: "After the first 30-35 minutes PSG controlled the game. We were not at our best."

"We can't say we are at their level," admitted the Barça boss of PSG but he stressed that the team is working hard to get there. The loss was the first in nine games this season and Hansi Flick is convinced it will be a lesson for his side.

"We will learn from it. We will have to do better against quality teams. This game will help us a lot in the future," continued Flick.

"The whole team has to defend and attack together, be involved. For PSG everyone wants the ball and everyone knows how to use the space."

A visibly disappointed Flick, however, was keen to point out that the Champions League has only just started with Barça in 16th place in the table with three points from two games.

Luis Enrique thanks Club for help with the Xana Foundation

Before Hansi Flick's appearance in the press room, PSG boss Luis Enrique Martínez, a former Barça player and coach, thanked FC Barcelona and its Foundation for its help with the work of the Xana Foundation, created in memory of his daughter who passed away from serious illness aged just nine.

"I want to thank FC Barcelona for the gesture of donating jerseys to help raise funds for the Xana Foundation. I thank the president and the whole Club," said Luis Enrique at the start of his press conference.

The money raised from the auction of the jerseys will go the Polseres Blaugranes project run by the Barça Foundation which aims to help seriously ill children and young adults with their stay in hospital. Part of the money raised will go specifically to the Xana Foundation.
