Tuesday 15 July marks the third anniversary of Raphinha's presentation as an FC Barcelona player. The man from Porto Alegre came to Barça from Premier League club Leeds United and in his three campaigns as a blaugrana, his influence has grown and grown. 

The 26 year old Raphinha came to Barça from Leeds United after playing a key role in helping the Premier League side avoid relegations in the 2021/22 season. In August 2022 he made his debut as a blaugrana in the opening league game of the campaign against Rayo Vallecano. 

Blaugrana since 2022

Raphinha joined FC Barcelona in July 2022 with the aim of becoming the team's starting left winger. Wearing the number 22 in his first season, he did just that, lifting the Liga title, while scoring 10 goals and providing 12 assists. The 2023/24 season saw him maintain his level, with 10 goals and 13 assists across all competitions. However, the forward reached another level in 2024/25, smashing his previous figures.

Raphinha reaches new heights

This season with Hansi Flick as coach h saw real progression for Raphinha. Now one of the team captains, alongside Lewandowski and Lamine Yamal – and Ferran Torres – the forward forms part of a dream attacking outfit, and his output has reached levels that very few players worldwide can reach. Raphinha scored 34 goals and provided 25 assists in 56 games, while also being the most used player by the German coach, finding the net 18 times in La Liga and 13 times in the Champions League, making him top scorer in the competition in 2024/25.
