Kessie settling into life in his 'second family'

FC Barcelona's new midfielder discusses his first few days in blaugrana, and everything seems to be going very smoothly indeed

Franck Yannick Kessie is one of the new faces in the FC Barcelona squad. The Ivorian, who joined the club in early July following the expiry of his contract with AC Milan, spoke to the club media during the trip to the US.

"Everything is going great so far” he says. “My team-mates have welcomed me really nicely, very warmly. It’s like joining a second family. Such a brilliant atmosphere will help the new players to adapt quickly and well."

"When you are Barça, you are a team made to win. It’s always been one of the best clubs in the world. Although there are a lot new players, they’ll be doing all they can to offer their very best."

Kessie has settled into the team’s way of playing very smoothly. “The coaches are doing a great job” he says. “The team’s identity hasn’t changed. It’s still the same. Holding onto the ball and being technically dominant.”

Indeed, Barça’s reputation has clearly even reached the United States, where “we might be far from home, but people still know perfectly well how Barça play."
