Mirotic named Euroleague MVP

The Barça player receives the award after leading the competition in average performance index rating over the regular season

The Euroleague MVP is Nikola Mirotic. The blaugrana number 33 has been selected as the best player in the competition and Mirotic himself picked up the award in an event that took place on Wednesday in the Stark Arena in Belgrade. The director responsible for basketball, Josep Cubells, congratulated Nikola Mirotic for winning the award. 

Also at the event was Rokas Jokubaitis as he collected the 'Rising Star' award for the best player under the age of 22. 

Great stats 

The regular season saw Mirotic post an average of 16.6 points, 5.1 rebounds in an average of 24 minutes per game with an average performance index rating of 19.4 over a campaign in which Saras' team finished top of the table with 21 wins and 7 defeats. Mirotic's efficiency in shooting was unrivalled: 65.6% in two points shots, 45% in three pointers and 87.5% from the free throw line. 

Mirotic's best game of the season came at the Palau against their opponents in Thursday's semi-finals, Real Madrid. A contest that saw Mirotic score a performance index rating of 39 with 31 points and 10 rebounds in 29 minutes on court. Mirotic was also included in the Euroleague ideal five to mark a fantastic season for the blaugrana star, a campaign he will be looking to round off with the Euroleague title.
