Against Elche, Riqui Puig opened his scoring account for the first team

FC Barcelona have been sharing the goals around this season, with 15 different scorers across all competitions. With his strike against Elche on Matchday 20 of the LaLiga campaign, Riqui Puig became the latest player to add his name to the list.

The following Barça stars have all found the net this term:

  • Messi: 14 goals
  • Griezmann: 9 goals
  • Braithwaite: 6 goals 
  • Dembélé: 6 goals 
  • Ansu Fati: 5 goals 
  • De Jong: 4 goals 
  • Pedri: 3 goals
  • Coutinho: 3 goals 
  • Riqui Puig: 1 goal
  • Araujo: 1 goal 
  • Sergi Roberto: 1 goal
  • Gerard Piqué: 1 goal
  • Lenglet: 1 goal
  • Jordi Alba: 1 goal
  • Dest: 1 goal

Only six oufield players are yet to score their first goal of the season: Umtiti, Junior, Busquets, Pjanić, Matheus and Trincão. The LaLiga side with the most different goalscorers so far are Villarreal, with 19.

Messi occupies second place in the 'Pichichi' ranking for top scorers in LaLiga his 11 goals putting him just one behind Youssef En-Nesyri and Luis Suárez. His other 3 goals have come in the Champions League. The Argentine has won the Pichichi award for the past four seasons.

Four new goalscorers for Barça

Pedri, Riqui Puig, Araujo and Dest have all scored their first ever goals for the first team in 2020/21. 

Pedri has been wowing fans with his assist-providing abilities, but opened his scoring account in his Champions League debut against Ferencváros. Riqui Puig was on target this past weekend against Elche. Araujo -better known for his solid defending- contributed with a volley against Valencia, whilst fullback Dest became the first American player in Barça history to get a goal for the first team, against Dinamo Kiev
