Neto is proud, happy and prepared for the challenge of defending the Barça goal, with the desire to learn from the best, to grow and to keep improving. Norberto Murara 'Neto' arrives at FC Barcelona just ahead of his 30th birthday, with the ambition and motivation to keep getting better. "I come to Barça in my prime, as a goalkeeper, and as a person, and I think this is the best time for me," Neto said at his official presentation to the media, in the Auditorium 1899. "Rewards come for those who go looking for them, and I have worked hard for this one. That is why I say I am very proud, satisfied, happy, and 100% ready for the challenge."
The Brazilian goalkeeper was accompanied at the press conference by the president of the Club, Josep Maria Bartomeu, as well as by the technical secretary, Éric Abidal, and posed with the shirt and the number 13.
Bartomeu said that Barça was adding "a goalkeeper with great experience, but also a great person who wants to help the team through humility, motivation and ambition." For his part, Abidal said that Neto is "a talented goalkeeper with great personality who will bring tranquility to the team and the defense."
During the press conference, Neto was also asked about his new teammate, goalkeeper Marc-André ter Stegen. "I know that he is a great goalkeeper, but I also think we can learn and grow together, and get better. I will work with professionalism, desire and ambition. I can't wait to get started."
"I hope I can contribute to Barça," Neto continued. "I have come to try to leave my mark and be part of the history of this Club. I will do everything I can to help my teammates and I want to win lots of titles for Barça's fans."
Neto had a busy morning with different events surrounding his presentation. First, he signed his contract in a private ceremony accompanied by President Bartomeu, as well as the Board Member Javier Bordas and CEO Òscar Grau.
Then, after visiting the dressing room, Neto put on the Barça kit for some photos out on the field before heading to the press conference.
