The BPA attend the NSCAA Convention for the second year

The Association are looking to increase the number of Barça ex-players involved in professional projects in the USA.

The Barça Players Association (BPA) were in attendance at the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Convention, which was held in Los Angeles (USA) from the 11th to the 15th of January. This is the country’s most important football meeting where, apart from business, emphasis is placed upon professional opportunities for coaches. For this reason, the Association wished to take advantage of their presence at the convention to give a new boost to the initiatives set up in 2016 to open a new job market for FC Barcelona ex-players, who are continuing their professional careers as coaches or football camp coaches. The BPA delegation was made up of the President, Ramon Alfonseda, and the Director, Luis Ortiz de Zevallos.

With the cooperation of ISL Fútbol, a partner of the BPA, contacts have been made with the aim of making it possible to gain employment for blue and claret ex-players as coaches, scouts or football camp coaches at football clubs in the USA. Football is a sport which is experiencing rapid growth throughout the country, and there is an increasing demand for qualified staff to carry out these tasks. This has meant that Association members such as Juan Carlos Carreras, Jordi Martínez and Xavi Moro have been working on different projects in the USA in recent months. These opportunities have been managed through the Barça Veterans Foundation Job Centre.
