Agreement reached between FC Barcelona and Blaz Janc to extend the contract of the left-handed versatile player until 30 June 2030. His previous contract with the Club was set to expire in the summer of 2028.

Janc joined Barça in 2020 and is set to complete a decade with the Club, having become increasingly important in Carlos Ortega's plans over the years. This season saw him operate as both a winger and a back, after having featured in the first line from time to time.

Blaz Janc has a winning mindset and can also provide options in defence, given he can play in the first, second and advanced positions.

The left hander ended the season with a memorable performance in the Champions League Final Four, scoring 6 goals and providing 5 assists in the final against Füchse Berlin. However, he didn't just show up in the final, as he was one of the stand out players in the historic 7/7 by Ortega's team.

The 29 year old Slovenian has already accumulated a great trophy haul as a blaugrana. Janc has won four EHF Champions League titles, 6 Liga Asobal titles and 6 Copa del Rey titles. He also won his first IHF Men's Club World Championship this season.

Janc: "I am very proud and happy to spend so many years at the best club in the world"

Janc signed his contract at the Llotja del Palau in the presence of Director Joan Solé, and he stated that "I would never have imagined playing so many years" for the "best club in the world".

"Every player dreams about wearing his jersey, and even more about doing it for so long. I feel at home. I won my first Champions League here, my children were born here... it's more than a Club", he went on to say to Barça Media.

Despite coming off a perfect season, Blaz Janc was very clear when it came to the future, as he said "We'll keep fighting to win more trophies and I am sure that we can do it with this team. We have to stay hungry for trophies and I am sure we will continue that way".
