30-year-old Egyptian left back Ali Zein has joined the Barça handball team from Al Sharjaj un the Arab on a one-year deal with the option of a second.
He is the third new edition to Barça 2021/22 after Ángel Fernández and Leo Maciel. The international star played at the 2019 and 2021 World Championships has experience of playing in his native Egypt (Al-Ahly), in Tunisia (Étoile Sportive du Sahel) and France (Pays D’Aix Université Club) and has spent the last three seasons in the UAE.
He adds depth to the left side of the court both in attack and defence, and has a powerful shot that is sure to produce plenty of goals for Barça.
