The story of Irene Paredes at Barça will have another chapter. FC Barcelona and the defender have reached an agreement for the current fourth captain of the team to remain at the Club until 2027. 

At the signing of the contract, the player herself, her family, president Joan Laporta, the director responsible for the Barça Women's team, Xavier Puig and the sporting director Marc Vivés were all present. 

Paredes is a key member of Pere Romeu's team having played 37 games this season, scoring five goals. The defender is a cornerstone of the side at the back and a threat from set pieces going forward. 

Heading towards 150 official appearances

Irene Paredes has made 143 appearances for Barça, scoring 14 goals: 93 appearances have come in the league, 34 in the Champions League, 9 in the Copa del Reina and 7 in the Spanish Super Cup. 

In total, she was won 12 trophies with the blaugranes with another two possibly to come this season with the Champions League final against Arsenal on Saturday and after that the final of the Copa de la Reina.
