Defender returns from loan spell at Real Sociedad and adds two years to her deal with FC Barcelona
Emma Ramírez has extended her contract with FC Barcelona until 30 June 2024 after returning to the club following a spell on loan to Real Sociedad.
The 20-year-old defender made her Barça debut in the 2020/21 season when she was still part of the reserve setup. She played four games in the Primera Iberdrola, and while at Real Sociedad she was one of the breakthrough players in the championship. She has also been playing for Spain at youth level.
What she says
“I’m very happy to come back home. It’s what I wanted and the club believed in me. I was already improving before I left Barça and although they didn’t win the Champions League, they have been at the forefront in everything this last season. I am here to be part of the team, to win titles and keep growing as a player.”
“I’m more mature and self-confident now. I had never played anywhere else and was a very enriching experience.”
