President Joan Laporta joined the Barça Femeni midfielder as she signed for a further three seasons
Aitana Bonmatí has renewed her contract with FC Barcelona up to June 30 2025. The Catalan midfielder, whose contract was due to end this season, has signed for a further three years. She was joined by president Joan Laporta and director Xavier Puig in the president's office in Camp Nou.
Aged only 23 years old, Aitana is already a key player for Barça and had a superb 2021. She scored and won player of the match in both the final of the 2019/20 Copa de la Reina (that was still to be played) and the unforgettable Champions League final in Gothenburg. Feats that helped make her one of the 13 nominees for The Best award, which FIFA will present in January.
Aitana has Barça DNA. She provides magic and scores goals. She arrived at the age of 13 years old, playing at different youth levels, before making her first team debut in 2016. It's been constant progress ever since, going on to win everything, playing 175 games and scoring 51 goals.
“I am very happy. I am very proud to remain at this great club that I hold so dearly for another three years. It's already been ten years, now another three. I've decided to stay where I feel happiest”.
“Barça has given me everything both on a sporting and personal level. It's a way of life”.
“We are going through an amazing and phenomenal time. My wish for the new year is titles, to carry on what we have been doing”.
