Jean-Clair Todibo was born in Cayenne, the capital of French Guiana in South America, on 30 December 1999. The Frenchman played for the FC Les Lilas club at the youth level before joining Toulouse FC in 2016. In total he made 10 appearances for the French club all of them in the starting XI and scored one goal. Furthermore, the Frenchman is excellent at bringing the ball out from the back and is also outstanding in the air.

On 8 January 2019 it was announced that the Club had reached an agreement for him to join the Club on 1 July. However, on 31 January FC Barcelona and Toulouse reached an agreement for him to join the blaugranes with immediately. On 1 February he was presented as a new FC Barcelona player.
