Ernesto Valverde is now hard at work at the Ciutat Esportiva. The new FC Barcelona coach has started his preseason for 2017/18 this Tuesday with his back room staff with who he was photographed out on the field at Sant Joan Despí outside the city of Barcelona.
Alongside Valverde will be assistant coach Jon Aspiazu, coaching assistant Joan Barbarà, goalkeeping coach José Ramon de la Fuente and the three fitness coaches José Antonio Pozanco, Edu Pons and Antonio Gómez. Barça’s official preseason will begin on Wednesday with the customary medical tests for the players and the first training session of the season.
It is not Ernesto Valverde’s first visit to the Ciutat Esportiva as he first took a trip to the facilities on 12 June alongside Club president Josep Maria Bartomeu, technical secretary Robert Fernández, member of the technical team Urbano Ortega and the director of professional sport, Albert Soler along with first team delegate Carles Naval.
