FC Barcelona have made a spectacular start to the season, particularly in front of goal. The team has scored 22 goals in their first five games of 2026/27, hitting five in four of them. Four five-goal hauls to start the campaign, the latest coming against Feyenoord, (5-1) at Spotify Camp Nou on Wednesday.
105 years on
We have to go back more than a century to find a Barça side that started a season with so many five-goal performances. It last happened in 1921/22, when Englishman Jack Greenwell was in charge.
This season's five-goal displays have come against Elche (5-0), Rayo Vallecano (5-2) and Valencia (5-0) in LaLiga, plus Feyenoord (5-1) in the UEFA Champions League. Add the 2-0 win over Athletic Club and Barça have racked up 22 goals in five games, numbers not seen at the club since 1950, when Ferdinand Daučík was coach.
Raphinha leads the way with eight goals, followed by Lamine Yamal (5), Fermín (4), Adeyemi (2), Pedri (1) and Gabriel Jesus (1). The other was an own goal against Rayo.
So Flick's Barça have already written themselves into the club's record books in 2026/27. Twenty-two goals scored and just four conceded, an exciting start to what promises to be a thrilling season.
