Barça have made a flying start to the La Liga season. Four victories in four games so far, and statistics that perfectly illustrate the excellent form Hansi Flick's side are currently in. The blaugranes have scored 17 goals in the opening stages of the campaign, averaging more than four per match, while conceding just two goals.

Their attacking football has been one of the team's defining features so far in the current campaign. In three of the four matches played to date, Barça have scored five goals, a statistic that underlines the team's ability to create chances and turn their dominance into goals.

However, this impressive start is not just down to their attacking output alone. Defensively, Barça have also shown remarkable solidity, keeping three clean sheets and conceding only two goals in the opening four games of the competition.

A start worth a place in Club history

The 17 goals scored so far place this Barça side among the most prolific starters in the Club's history. Only two seasons have produced more goals after the opening four La Liga matches: 1950/51, with 21 goals, and 1949/50, with 19. The current total also matches the 17 goals scored after four fixtures in the 1957/58 and 2011/12 seasons.

There is another statistic that further highlights the significance of this start. With 17 goals scored and only two conceded, Barça boast a goal difference of +15, the best in the Club's history after the first four league matches of a season. The previous record was +14, set in the 1957/58 campaign, when FC Barcelona scored 17 goals and conceded three.

The numbers clearly show that Barça have found the right balance between attack and defence. The team have been able to dominate opponents with an attacking approach that is delivering plenty of goals, while at the same time maintaining the solidity required to concede very few.

Seventeen goals scored, only two conceded, three clean sheets and a goal difference of +15. Four games have been enough to demonstrate that this Barça side have begun the league campaign in top form.
