So, the wait is finally over and FC Barcelona are back home to stay. it's been two and a half years since the last game on 28 May 2023 when Barça hosted Mallorca.

The team and the fans were home again after 909 days and the period at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys comes to an end.

13 out of 13

Eric Garcia again featured in this LaLiga game, making him the only Barça player to play in all 13 LaLiga games so far this season, given Rashford missed out due to illness. Eric has started 11 of those 13 games, playing 1010 minutes in total.

He also put on a tremendous performance in the defensive midfielder position, showing he performs no matter what position he plays. Those in attendance were clearly in agreement too, as he was loudly applauded when substituted.

Match minutes for 9 Catalans

This Barça v Athletic Club featured 9 Catalan players in Joan Garcia, Eric, Cubarsí, Gerard Martín, Balde, Olmo, Lamine Yamal, Casadó and Bernal. According to journalist Oriol Jové, the match made history given you have to go way back to 31 October 1937 when Barça played Espanyol in Les Corts (9-1) to find a Barça home game featuring so many Catalans.

There's more. Barça played with seven players born in Catalonia in the starting 11 – Joan Garcia, Eric, Cubarsí, Gerard Martín, Balde, Olmo and Lamine Yamal. This time you have to go back 55 years to find a home Barça match with more Catalan starters when Barça hosted Sporting de Gijón on 6 December 1970 (2-0) and Sadurní, Rifé, Eladio, Torres, Rexach, Alfonseda, Martí Filosia and Pujol all ran out for kickoff.

100 games for Fermín

Fermín López will always remember 22 November 2025. The La Masia midfielder played match 100 in the FC Barcelona jersey on the day of the return to the Spotify Camp Nou. A moment likely to remain long in the memory of the blaugrana number 16, as it was his first time playing at the Stadium.

The first time for anything is invariably special and he was able to celebrate his 100th match where everyone from La Masia wants to play. What's more, he scored a superb goal to make it 3-0 against Athletic Club, crowning a superb performance all round.
