Another international break is to come after Sevilla v FC Barcelona on 5 October and FC Barcelona are providing many players once again. Frenkie de Jong, Rashford, Marc Bernal, Kounde, Bardghji, Lewandowski, Cubarsí, Olmo, Pedri, Ferran and Lamine Yamal have all been called up for their respective national sides so far. This latest break in club football in the second week of October includes qualifying for the 2026 World Cup in Canada, Mexico and the United States of America.
More wins on the menu
The five blaugranes called up by Luis de la Fuente, namely Cubarsí, Olmo, Pedri, Ferran and Lamine Yamal, have two qualification matches to come. Both games are at home and the aim is to continue winning and remain top of Group E. They take on Georgia on 11 October (8.45pm CEST) and Bulgaria on 14 October (8.45pm CEST).
Francia and Jules Kounde are in the same situation having won their first two qualifiers too. The defender could play in two games – Azerbaijan at home on 10 October (8.45pm CEST) and Iceland away on 13 October (8.45pm CEST).
Frenkie de Jong and the Netherlands also have two games that could prove vital for World Cup qualification, first travelling to play Malta on 9 October (8.45pm CEST) before a home match against Finland on 12 October (6.00pm CEST), as they look to continue their unbeaten start and remain in top spot in Group G.
Potential debut for Bardghji
FC Barcelona has provided a new name for a national team this international break in Roony Bardghji, who has been called up for Sweden for the first time, with two World Cup qualification matches at home against Switzerland on 10 October (8.45pm CEST) and Kosovo on 13 October (8.45pm CEST).
Rashford with England
Leading the way for assists for FC Barcelona this season, Rashford has again been called up for England, this time for a home friendly against Wales on 9 October (8.45pm CEST) and a World Cup qualifier away to Latvia on 14 October (8.45pm CEST).
Lewandowski with Poland
The centre forward has two potential matches – a friendly at home to New Zealand on 9 October (8.45pm CEST) and then an important World Cup qualifying match away to Lithuania on 12 October (8.45pm CEST), as his Poland side try to keep pace with group G leaders Netherlands.
Bernal with U-21s
After making his return for FC Barcelona on 14 September, the La Masia midfielder has been named in the Spain U-21 squad. They face Norway in a friendly in Guadalajara on 10 October, before a UEFA EURO U-21 qualifier against Finland in Castellón de la Plana on 14 October (6.30pm CEST).
