The blaugranes now lead LaLiga as FC Barcelona have made the most of Real Madrid's loss to city rivals Atlético Madrid on Saturday by overcoming Real Sociedad 2-1 at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys (2-1).
Odriozola had put the visitors ahead before Kounde levelled the match before the break, and then Lewandowski finished a superb assist from the returning Lamine Yamal that proved to be the winner that confirms Barça as number one in the league table.
Kounde finally beats Remiro
Barça set the pace against Real Sociedad from the outset, with constant attacks down the left flank. Marcus Rashford proved particularly incisive and fully tested Remiro in the visitor's goal, who tipped the forward's shot over the bar (min 8).
The pace dropped as the game went on, but the blaugranes were still dominating possession. All the same, in what was Real Sociedad's first clear attack, and only having been named in the side after a late change to the starting line-up, Odriozola made the most of a quick transition to finish from the edge of the area to put the visitors ahead (0-1, min 30).
The goal didn't faze Barça though, who continued to push for an equaliser. Pedri almost managed it but Remiro pawed the ball away and his side managed to scramble it clear (min 39). Not long afterwards, Rooney fired in, but Remiro was there again with a good save down to his right (min 41). The reward ultimately came when Marcus Rashford swung in a corner and Jules Kounde connected with a crisp header to level things up just before halftime (1-1, min 43).
Returning Lamine Yamal assists
More of the same from Barça after the break, bolstered in attack by Olmo coming on at half time, followed by Lamine Yamal after 57 minutes. The returning forward had an immediate impact, putting in an inch-perfect cross for Lewandowski with his first touch for the striker to complete the comeback (2-1, min 59).
Lamine was causing the Real Sociedad defence all nature of problems, creating chances from some quality passes. All the same, the scoreline remained unchanged, and the visitors also had their own opportunities to tie up the game, such as when Kubo hit the crossbar (min 80).
Lewandowski then had the chance to put the game to bed after a good combination with Lamine Yamal and substitute Ferran, but his shot hit the post (min 84).
Ultimately, Barça closed out an important win to get the three points that takes them into top spot in the league.
