Balaídos, a tough place to go

Balaídos, a tough place to go

Barça have only managed to win 30% of their games at the stadium in Galicia, making it the most difficult place to go to get the three points for the Catalans

Another league match for the blaugranes this weekend with another three points the aim of course. After the home draw with Granada, Xavi Hernández' need to get back to winning ways and a win against the side from Vigo will see them continue the hunt for top spot in the league.

However, this Saturday's game could prove tough with a capital T. It may seem like just another game, but the Balaídos stadium has proved a real stumbling block for the blaugranes as FC Barcelona have only won on one of the last eight visits there, with the record including three draws, four defeats, and at least two goals against in seven of those eight games. The solitary victory was a 3-0 win in 2020.

Balaídos has become the proverbial tough place to go for Barça, as they have only won 30% of the games there in the last ten seasons, ahead of the Civitas Metropolitano and Mestalla. The goals conceded gives some clue as to why, given that Balaídos is the stadium where Ter Stegen have conceded most goals, 16 in 6 games.

Iago Aspas, a thorn in the side for Ter Stegen

Many of Celta's win have come from their goalscoring feats, with Iago Aspas making the blaugranes one of his favourite prey, scoring 10 goals in 18 games against Barcelona in LaLiga, setting a record for goals against the same opponent in the competition.

Very few manage to beat Marc André Ter Stegen, but the forward seems to have found the formula, having scored 9 goals past him, ahead of Basque players Aritz Aduritz (6) and Iñaki Williams (5).
