Ter Stegen extends his record run

The German keeper has now gone 624 minutes without conceding in La Liga after his excellent performance in the win over Celta

Marc ter Stegen continues to be in sparkling form this season and after the 1-0 win over Celta the German keeper extends his unbeaten run in La Liga thanks to a series of excellent saves which guided Barça to victory.

Best start to a season

Alexsander Isak, in the sixth minute of the game with Real Sociedad, is the only player to have netted against Barça this season in La Liga. Since then, Ter Stegen has kept a clean sheet against all of Real Valladolid, Sevilla, Cádiz, Elche, Mallorca and now Celta. Both his previous records for successive clean sheets and minutes unbeaten dated back to the 2019/20 season.

Ter Stegen's impressive stats

The German's previous record stood at 499 minutes from the 2019/29 season. Now, his run this season stands at 624 minutes in La Liga, approaching Claudio Bravo's record of 722 minutes and eight clean sheets from the 2014/15 season.

Few teams over the last 30 years have conceded so few goals at the start of the league campaign. Only three teams have been capable of conceding one goal or less in their first eight matches: Barça in 2015 and this year, Deportivo La Coruña in 1994 and Real Madrid in 1998.
