The first week of the FC Barcelona preseason

EIt’s not long until the 2022/23 season gets started at Barça. On Monday 4, Xavi Hernández and his squad will gather at 9.00am CEST for the routine medical tests, and then at 7.00pm, CEST, they’ll be having their first training session.

There will be no fewer than eight workouts in this first week, and Sunday will be the only full day off. On Tuesday and Thursday there will be morning and evening sessions, while on the other three days there will only be evening sessions, again at 7.00pm CEST. The players that were away on international duty in June will not need to report back until July 11.

Six preseason games

The team won’t have any games until the second week back, on Wednesday 13 again local Catalan team Olot. Three days after that they’ll fly off to the United States for a four-game tour against Inter Miami, Real Madrid, Juventus and the NY Red Bulls.

Once they’re back from America, there is still the Joan Gamper Trophy against an opponent yet to be decided, before La Liga begins at Spotify Camp Nou against Rayo Vallecano. Later, on August 24, there is also going to be charity game against Manchester City at Spotify Camp Nou.
