With 42 goals to his name, only former Arsenal and Manchester United star Robin van Persie has notched up more goals for the Netherlands, 50.
So, another eight goals would make Memphis the all-time top scorer for one of the finest footballing nations in the world.
Memphis has not just outscored Patrick Kluivert (40), but other Dutch legends of the class of Dennis Bergkamp (37), Arjen Robben (37), Ruud van Nistelrooy (35), Faas Wilkes (35) and Johan Cruyff (30).
