Sergi Roberto and Wague continue recovery programmes

Two players continue their recovery programmes in unusual fashion by ascending La Mola

It was a different kind of training day for Sergi Roberto and Moussa Wague. The two players, who are still recovering from their respective injuries, shared a session away from the Ciutat Esportiva, the gym and the training ground.

They did it outdoors together with some of the first team physios. First thing in the morning, the two players hiked up La Mola, a 1,104 metre mountain in the Sant Llorenç del Munt i l'Obac Natural park. As they went, the alternated their pace between walking and jogging, depending on the terrain.

Feeling good

Speaking to the club’s media, Sergi Roberto said “I’m very happy with the work being done. I feel really good and am keen to continue my recovery.”

He is also delighted with the upturn in the team’s fortunes, saying “the atmosphere in the dressing room is very good and that’s the way to carry on.”

Last December, Sergi Roberto underwent surgery in Turku (Finland) on a right hamstring injury. Wague’s operation was a whole year earlier in December 2020 and involved reconstruction of the patellar tendon in his right knee as well as repair of a torn posterior cruciater.
