Club to appeal Sergio's yellow card

Club to appeal Sergio's yellow card

Coach Ronald Koeman banned for two games and Frenkie De Jong also to miss the game against Levante

The Competition Committee of the Spanish Football Federation has confirmed the sanctions against coach, Ronald Koeman, and the players, Sergio and Frenkie De Jong, all of whom received cards during the Cádiz v Barça match played on Thursday.

The Dutch coach was sent off during the final minutes of the game after speaking with the fourth referee and has received a two-game ban. As such, he will miss Sunday's clash against Levante (4:15pm CEST), but the Club's legal department will look into a potential appeal to reduce the ban to one match to allow Koeman to take his place on the bench at the Wanda Metropolitano.

Frenkie De Jong will miss the game against Levante after receiving two yellow cards in 5 minutes, while the Club will appeal the one match ban for Barça captain, Sergio, after he accumulated 5 yellow cards.
