Argentina into Copa América semi-finals

Leo Messi scores and provides an assist with Sergio Agüero also featuring in the 3-0 win against Ecuador

The Copa América continues on its course in Brazil and Argentina are now in the semi-finals after a comprehensive 3-0 victory over Ecuador in the quarter-finals. Leo Messi played all 90 minutes, scoring the albiceleste's third goal and Sergio 'Kun' Agüero also featured as a second half substitute. Lionel Scaloni's team will now face Colombia in the last four. 

Argentina went ahead before half time thanks to De Paul finishing off a chance created by Messi. In the second half the Argentines had to wait until the 83rd minute for the all important second goal from Lautaro Martínez. In added time at the end of the game Leo Messi added a third with his 76th goal for his country, booking Argentina's place in the semi-finals. 

Uruguay out on penalties

In one of the quarter-finals of the competition, Colombia put out Uruguay following a penalty shoot out. Barça defender Ronald Araujo could only watch on from the sidelines as his Uruguayan team mates were held 0-0 after extra time by los cafeteros. In the subsequent penalty shoot out Colombia came out on top 4-2 top book a semi-final date against Argentina and end Araujo and Uruguay's presence in the competition. The other semi-final will see Emerson's Brazil side take on Peru.
