Two against Granada takes Argentine's goal tally up to 11, one more than Gerard Moreno (10)
Leo Messi scored a second brace in a row against Granada on Saturday, repeating his double against Athletic midweek and has suddenly finds himself two goals clear at the top of the Liga goalscoring charts.
The Argentinian now has eleven goals, and tops Gerard Moreno (10), Iago Aspas (9) and Luis Suárez (9).
If he were to go to win the Pichichi trophy again this year, it would be the eighth time he has done it!
15 years of double figures
The goals in Granada also mean that the Barça superstar has now gone for a decade and half scoring at least ten goals every league season. Obviously, something nobody has ever done before.
He also managed to end his drought from free-kicks and the result was so convincing that Ronald Koeman opted to bring him off for the final minutes for some rest ahead of the Spanish Super Cup. That’s the next challenge…
