Gerard Piqué has won another award, this time at the Globe Soccer Awards gala held on Sunday 27 December in Dubai.
On Saturday, December 19, the centre-back received recognition for Catalan Sports Merit, and on this occasion it was the 'Player Career Award,' one that highlights his success over the years.
"This award is an honour for me. I have had a long career and I hope to continue playing for three or four more years," he said.
He also spoke about his recovery after sustaining long-term injuries on November 21 in the Wanda Metropolitano against Atlético Madrid. "I look forward to a speedy recovery and to return next month. I am positive," he explained.
