Arturo Vidal is convinced that Barça can end the season on a high, and he has made his opinions on the matter clear in an interview with FOX Sports, in which he discusses the games played since La Liga got back under way.
“As the games are more close together we need to use the time as best we can to ensure we go into the next game in the best possible shape” he says. “But I think we are in perfect condition to be champions.”
“The great atmosphere among the team is an important factor. We have all become close friends and that helps on the field. It’s very important because it really shows. I’m happy.”
Covid-19 has changed society, and football too. “It all begins before the game has started because things happen that you never believed could really occur” says the Chilean. “It’s weird and difficult. Before, you would arrive at the stadium and you could feel it in the air, you could sense the crowd. Now you don’t feel anything, you don’t have the fans behind you and that makes it much more difficult. But once the game starts you just concentrate as hard as you can regardless.”
As for the Champions League, which this year will be played as an eight-team tournament in Lisbon, he says “I like the format. If we can beat Napoli it’s going to be very odd because of how and where it’s happening, in August and over single legs. But all-or-nothing games are the ones I like the best. I want to be important in those games.”
