Íñigo Ruiz de Galarreta was born on 6 August 1993 in Eibar in the Basque Country. He began his career in the youth teams at Athletic Club Bilbao where he claimed the U19 Copa del Rey title in 2010. He made his debut for the first team on 14 December 2011 in the final minutes of a UEFA Europa League game against Paris Saint-Germain at the Parc des Princes.
More recently he has played for Mirandés (2013/14), Zaragoza (2014/15), Leganés (2015/2016) and Numancia (2016/17) where, once, he overcame his injury problems, he put in a spectacular season. He was named player of the year at the Club and in his 37 games in the Second Division he scored two goals and registered three assists. He has represented the Spanish national side at youth level.
An all-round, hard-working midfielder with quality, Iñigo is a team player with excellent touch, great vision and a battling character as he showed in the Second Division when he won the ball back more than any other player in the 2016/17 season.
