Sevilla Atlético 2-1 Barça B: Comeback falls short

Barça B gave it their all at the Jesús Navas Stadium but ultimately left with a loss. Sevilla Atlético scored two goals in the first half and despite many chances throughout the game, they could only reduce the deficit to one by full time.

Tough start

A to and fro start to the game with Arnau Tenas stopping a stinging shot from the edge of the area before Jutglà hit the side netting after good work by Bade. Tenas was being worked and a Sevilla goal didn't take long to arrive, Isaac making it 1-0 with a strong shot from outside the area after 27 minutes.

Barça B tried to reply instantly through a good shot by Aranda, saved by Javi Díaz, but the home side scored again through Nacho Quintana (2-0, min. 35). The visitors weren't giving up, however, two big chances for Jutglà before the break could have cut the lead, but it wasn't to be.

Second half push

The pattern pretty much continued in the second half, Tenas saving a third goal, before Jutglà couldn't quite reach a through pass from Nils. The game changed on 59 minutes when Sevilla Atlético's José Ángel was sent off after a second yellow card for a hard challenge on Ferran Jutglà.

Barça B then dominated, having chance after chance, Nils going close twice in quick succession, Matheus and the dogged Jutglà also almost halving the difference too, but to avail.

The push was finally rewarded after Ramos Mingo scored a great header to make it 2-1 in the 88th minute to set up a frantic final few minutes. However, the clock ran down, and Barça B ended up leaving the Jesús Navas Stadium with a tight loss.
