Betis Deportivo 1-2 Barça B: Second win in a row

Second win in a row after first half goals by Ferran Jutglà and Fabio Blanco

After the 2-1 win against UE Cornellà at Estadio Johan CruyffBarça B won again, this time away at the Ciudad Deportiva Luís del Sol (1-2). A good first half saw Ferran Jutglà and Fabio Blanco score to settle the nerves and ensure the three points go back to Barcelona. They are now 12th in the league with 39 points.

Effective first half

The game began with Barça B having long periods of possession and Betis counter-attacking quickly on transition. After the home side had the first real threat on goal, Barça crowned a good spell with a goal by Ferran Jutglà from inside the area to make it 0-1.

Betis were quick to respond, a Moha header finding the net after it bounced off Arnau Comas' shoulder (1-1, 28th minute). Barça remained true to their style of dominating possession, and just before half-time, Fabio Blanco finished a superb pass by Lucas de Vega with a first time shot to make it 1-2 in the 43rd minute.

Defensive solidity to see out the match

After the restart, Barça were clearly mindful of Betis' first-half counterattacks, dropping back to limit any such opportunities. Wingers Alejandro Balde - returning after a few months out - and Zacarias Ghalian helped to stretch the pitch when needed.

Ultimately it was a strong rearguard action that safeguarded the three points for Barça B and kept them on the winning trail.
