Spotify Camp Nou to host traditional open-doors training session on January 2, organised by FC Barcelona Foundation

When it is finished, the players will go to different Barcelona hospitals to visit children for the first time in two years due to the pandemic

Next January 2 brings the traditional Christmas solidarity event promoted by the FC Barcelona Foundation including the men’s first team’s open doors training session at Spotify Camp Nou followed by the visit by the players to different hospitals in the Barcelona area. This very special day gives hospitalised children and their families a wonderful chance to get to meet the Barça stars in person. This will be first hospital visit for two years because of the pandemic, and offers these children the opportunity to forget about their illnesses and medical treatments for a while and instead enjoy a magical moment of excitement with Barça.

The open doors training session begins at Spotify Camp Nou from 11.00am. This year tickets cost 6 euros for the general public and 3 euros for FC Barcelona members.

All gate takings will be donated to the FC Barcelona Foundation’s Robots Project for Pedeatric Emotional Well-Being which allows children that are in hospital or in situations of risk, and who are unable to come to the FC Barcelona facilities in person, to enjoy a Barça Experience by means of a robot with audio and video connections. Robots Pol and Joyce make this magic happen, and are named after a boy and a girl who both lost their battles with cancer and had previously benefited from the Foundation’s projects. The Foundation thanks the families of both children for allowing it to use their names in their memory.

Once the training session is done, the players will be going to different hospitals and health centres in Barcelona to visit children, give them some support and deliver gifts. They will be visiting the following places:

-Hospital Sant Joan de Déu
-Hospital Vall d’Hebron
-Hospital de Sant Pau
-Hospital de Barcelona
-Hospital de HM Nens de Barcelona
-Hospital Universitari Germans Trias i Pujol (Can Ruti)
-Hospital Parc Taulí de Sabadell
-Cottolengo Padre Alegre
-Casa Ronald McDonad
